I love this recipe. It is one of my favorite go-to breakfast treats for special occasions like the Olympics or the royal wedding or baby showers or if we have company or if it’s Saturday or Tuesday. I originally got the recipe a few years ago from Erica and it is really a gem plus I almost always have all the ingredients on hand (except the whipping cream) which is the only thing that keeps me from making these daily. The recipe below is for chocolate chip scones (my personal fave) but you can use other mix ins, I have done butterscotch and white chocolate cranberry too.

First things first, collect your ingredients.

2 cups flour
1/4 cup granulated sugar
1 Tbsp. baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
3/4 cup chocolate chips
1 cup whipping cream (if dough is crumbly & too dry, knead in a tiny bit more cream until right consistency is reached)

Preheat oven to 425 degrees. In mixing bowl, mix flour, sugar, baking powder and salt. Add chocolate chips. Blend in whipping cream with a fork or spatula

When mixed, turn out onto a floured surface and knead several times. Pat into a circle and either slice into triangles or use cookie cutters.

Bake on an ungreased cookie sheet for 11 to 13 minutes and enjoy!
